AFTER COLLECTING MY JAW FROM THE FLOOR....
Hey Hey,
Well this week has really been a long week….it seems like forever since I last got a chance to sit down and write an email out to all of you, and it really has been a while….our P-day was moved from Monday to Wednesday this week for our Temple Day…so that is why it has been so long in between emails.
But I guess the big news that’s rocked my life is the fact that my Dad wants to get baptized….if most of you think you have lost your vision….I did too.
I guess there is a lot of things on my mind right now, so forgive me if the letter is scatter-brained and all over the place. First things first….Dad, of course I would love to record a talk on Baptism for you….I will see what I can do about maybe having it as a visual recording but I can’t promise anything yet. Second, Grandpa Siple, you lucky dog you….and President Dalton….you too! How I would love to be there, and be a part of this wonderfully awesome event. But I have a few things that are going on in my life right now...But can I just say a quick holy cow…Holy Cow. Man, this is just a crazy way to start your emails.
Well, as far as for me, I really don’t have any news that was as nearly as exciting as what I got…so I will try and make do. First off, we didn’t have our 2 baptisms last week because their Dad, who was going to baptize them, had to have his Gall Bladder removed last Thursday, which put him out for a few days…but we are good to go and now. They will be getting baptized for sure this Saturday. So we are really happy for them. Other than that…I’m sorry to report that not too much else happened. I had been sick from Thursday of last week until late Saturday night…I wasn’t really able to do a whole lot…but I’m happy to report that I am back to full strength. We are out working like missionaries do and it is a lot nicer being outside than in. Right now our District leader has been in the Hospital since Sunday, but he should be getting out soon enough, I think later today in fact. We did get to go the Temple today….boy, that is always a breath of fresh air to go into the Temple and have your spiritual batteries recharged…I really love going to the Temple.
Well , I want to cover a little more of what I was talking about at the top of the letter. Man, I am so happy to hear the news that Dad wants to get baptized. There really couldn’t have been any better news to get today than that. Dad, I want you to know that this is such an amazing choice you are making to get baptized. It will truly change your life, more then you can even think of now. You think you’re blessed having the missionaries over for lessons and dinner now…just wait!! It gets even better. May 17th will be a big day on my Calendar…I will be thinking of you all that whole day
Now, let me make this very clear….someone better take so many pictures that I get sick of looking a pictures of the people and things at my Dad’s baptism service. I really want there to be a ton. Again…of course, Dad I will do whatever I can to be a part of this special and amazing day in your life…As much as you are looking forward to May 17th 2008…I’m looking forward to May 2009….when we are all able to go to the Temple, the house of our Heavenly Father, and be sealed together as a Family for Time and all Eternity. Also Dad, I want to add my testimony to the things which the missionaries are teaching you, they are teaching true and living doctrine…it can and will bless your life….but it is all dependant on your willingness to follow and do what your father in Heaven asks of you. I hope that you do the things you know to be right and all the blessings in store for you will come your way.
Well, transfer calls are Saturday night and I hope that I don’t get transferred. But you just never know. I really do love this area…I think it really has become my favorite area. It is just really amazing--the members the investigators. I really love it here. I also love all of you very much.
Holy cow, this week has just been turned upside down!
Well I will talk to you all next week…..Much love.
Love,
Elder Geoff Taylor
